There is no set composition for the Krug Grande Cuvee: each year, the Krug family recreates the blend from taste and memory alone for this incredibly complex Champagne. The Grande Cuvee is typically made from as many as 50 wines and three varietals, 20 to 25 growths, and six to ten different years. The Krug Grande Cuvee is a vibrant gold color, with a creamy texture and a richly complex palate consisting toast, soft spices, and candied fruit. Krug creates this wine with tremendous attention to tradition and excellence; with each release, an intricate harmony is created through artful blending. Millennium 2000 1.5L Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne Up for auction is a Very Rare Magnum 1.5L Year 2000 Millennium Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne. Rated 95 points by Wine & Spirits. This bottle is in Mint condition. Louis Roederer 2000 Cristal is A classic of power and finesse, richness and delicacy. An assertive, honeyed style, with plenty of citrus flavors. Mature coffee and roasted nut accents are peeking through, with a robust structure and a dried citrus aftertaste. The jewel in the Champagne Louis Roederer crown, Cristal, was created in 1876 for the Tsar Alexander II of Russia. Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne is rich and precise, glittering like flecks of gold in the glass, with just a hint of green. It exhibits amazing aromatic complexity, with scents of fresh almonds and sweet flowers, notes of peach, white chocolate, caramel and a hint of hazelnut. The palate is fleshy and smooth with mineral notes mid-palate. Refreshing crispness and a low dosage add to this wine s delicacy and strength. Perfectly poised between pinot noir s structure and chardonnay s finesse, one sip and the fine bubbles of this champagne will quickly remind you that you are drinking one of the world s finest bubblies.
